Dean continues to improve a little every day. He has eaten solid foods for the last two days and his stomach seems to be tolerating it well. If he continues to progress like he has the last couple of days, he could come home Monday. The doctor wants to monitor his progress another day and see how he does.
On the day of Dean’s surgery, we (the family) had a visit from a gentleman from First Baptist Laurel, who had undergone this surgery 3 years ago. He sat and talked with us for a long time and allowed us to ask him questions concerning the surgery, his recovery and what we should expect. It was such a blessing for this man to share with us when everything was still so unknown. I told Dean today, that one day I see him doing that same thing for other families in our situation. God is going to use Dean in such a powerful way through this. Please continue to pray for his speedy recovery so that he can minister to other families who may have to endure this illness and surgery.
Below are the prayers that Jennifer, Dean’s sister, wrote for July 7-9:
Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. Psalm 16:5
Lord, help Dean to take his cup by that handle and embrace it knowing that whatever happens in his life has been assigned by You….You, who created him and even focused your love on him before you laid the foundations of the earth. We are anxious to see your plan for him unfold, Lord.
And I want you to know this, dear brother; Everything that has happened to me here has been a great boost in getting out the Good News concerning Christ. Philippians 1:12
We pray God that everything that is happening to Dean will be instrumental in getting your message out to others. We BELIEVE God that no pain he experiences will be wasted but will be used to your praise and glory. In Jesus’ Name.
The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom or what shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
Lord Jesus I pray that You will be the only stronghold in Dean’s life. I pray that he will cling to You like never before knowing that there is no symptom and pain that he has to fear. Thank you Lord that there is absolutely nothing that Dean need fear. We love you Lord!
We look forward to the day that we can return to worship with our church family. God bless you all!
God Is Good!!!
